Where’s the restroom, please?

Where’s the restroom, please?

We’ve all gone into restaurants with cute restrooms signs that say things like “chicas” and “chicos” or have pictures of men’s and women’s shoes or other gender-specific item to guide you into the right door. One of my favorites is at Due Amici in Downtown Columbus…ask for the restroom and you’ll be pointed down to the cellar, where you’ll walk down a stone hallway, still unsure that you’re in the right place…

Then you see the mirrors. I’ve been there many times, and each time I’m still sort of thrilled when I see the reflections of the large glossy magazine models, first men then women. If you’ve read some of my other posts, by now you know I’m fascinated with public restrooms. But you too would think this was really cool.

By the way, the food at Due Amici is fabulous- stop in for drinks, appetizers and a peak at the restroom signs if you’re ever in Columbus!

Gardening for Dummies!

Gardening for Dummies!

I  don’t have a green thumb and I think that’s why I was completely blow away by the beauty of the air plants at Nest, a new home accessories store in Columbus. (Air plants or Tillandsia need no soil because water and nutrients are absorbed through the leaves). These are definitely my new plant of choice- it’s like gardening for dummies!  I was equally blown away by the fantastic home accessories, especially the vintage finds, at Nest.  Thanks guys, for showing stores like Anthropologie, that you can sell uber cool stuff at reasonable prices. I’m excited to check out Shine, their 2nd store featuring a larger furniture selection.
