We Love Bolyu

Most of us tend to have hectic, demanding schedules all week long, but it’s crucial to dedicate time for visits from industry representatives. What better way to network and see all the new products? Carpet reps are my absolute favorite because most of them either bring cookies or little vials of recycled content for show and tell. I was recently introduced to the Bolyu line of carpet last week and my rep did not fail to impress. While she didn’t bring any snicker doodles, she did perform a little experiment right on my desk, demonstrating how Bolyu’s innovative Puralex technology absorbs odors. How cool is that? The entire line of broadloom and modular comes standard with Puralex treated fibers and is great for kitchens, cafeterias, healthcare, or any space that could use a little freshening up. Their website boasts that this technology “reduces total VOCs emissions 25-40% by absorbing odors from the air indoors.” Sounds to me like this could contribute to a potential LEED ID credit. Not to mention the Nexterra® carpet backing: 85% post-consumer recycled content- 35% from recycled PET bottles and 50% from recycled glass from automotive and other consumer sources. (I wasn’t sure if that made me feel better or slightly guilty about offering my rep a cold bottle of PET-bottled water…?) Spec this carpet line and you get a little certificate to display in your facility that shows how many plastic bottles you diverted from landfill. Another reason to love Bolyu: this company really goes above and beyond by using 100% Renewable Green Energy Credits for its commercial operation. And yes, it also happens to feature very cool patterns in rich, beautiful colors.
