My nerdy love for Jonathan Olivares’ Office Chair Book

My nerdy love for Jonathan Olivares’ Office Chair Book

I think Jonathan Olivares’ book “A Taxonomy of Office Chairs” is so cool because not only am I a design history nerd, but also an office chair nerd. Olivares talks about his book in this little video.Watch it, and if you’re an ergonomic geek like me, grab a copy of the book. By the way, is it me or is he kinda cute (in a design-researcher kind of way)? OMG, I really am a nerd.

Compendium of Interior Styles

Compendium of Interior Styles

I love art /design history books in general, but this one by Francois Baudot is definitely a favorite. I bought it for the loads of gorgeous full page photos. It’s almost more of a visual history of interior styles from the Middle Ages through the end of the 20th century. If you have no patience for textbook wordiness, this makes for an easier read & will look awesome on your coffee table!  www.amazon.com

Vintage T-Shirts

Vintage T-Shirts

OK, so this is a little detour from the interior design world, but so what? It’s way too fun to ignore. Who doesn’t love a vintage t-shirt? Taschen presents another cool book whose every page you’ll want to turn. From DIY to the mass market, the printed T-shirt has been embraced by fashion designers and artists, street culture and brand-building corporations. Yet its basic form and function are unchanged. From the classic I HEART NY to boobs to Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, there’s something there for everyone. www.taschen.com
